Catholic and Lutheran followers built their houses of worship, St. Peter Catholic Church and Zion Lutheran Church respectively, in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Huron Baptist Church held services in the Grange Hall beginning in 1959 until a building was erected on East Cleveland Road in 1961.

The Huron Baptist Church originally built the structure in 1961. The congregation renamed the church in 1963 as First Baptist Church and the educational wing was added in 1968. After several years as an empty church, the Lighthouse Assembly of God held its first service here in 1995 and purchased the church in 1996.
